The Q. Brooke Bachand trio will play at the licensed, all-ages event space.

Don your green clothes, down a pint of Guinness and head to the Oak Bay Recreation Centre's upstairs lounge on March 14 for a St. Patrick's Day celebration to remember.

The Slieves and multi-award winning artist Q. Brooke Bachand will fill the venue with high-energy, foot-stomping Irish tunes starting at 7:30 p.m.

"Brought together by their deep love of traditional Irish music, this group has brought Celtic folk and Celtic-inspired original music to festivals and theatres on B.C.'s west coast for well over a decade," the concert's organizers said about The Slieves in a release. "The trio draws inspiration from such groups as Dervish, The Bothy Band, The Pogues, The Chieftains, Great Big Sea, The Irish Rovers and others."

The winner of two Irish Music Awards, Q. Brooke Bachand, who is set to play before The Slieves, is known for their powerful fiddle, captivating vocals, contagious energy and love of folk and Celtic music.

The event space is a licensed and open to music-lovers of all ages. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for dinner service.
