Through B.C.'s growing communities fund, which provides one-time infrastructure investments to local governments across the province, $12.8 million will help improve visitors' experiences at Royal Athletic Park and Centennial Square.

Victoria will use $4.5 million of this funding to improve lighting and install new trees, a splash pad and green spaces in Centennial Square. The remaining $8.3 million will be used to upgrade Royal Athletic Park's washrooms, seating, lighting and stadium accessibility.

The city expects to complete Centennial Square and Royal Athletic Park improvements in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
