A record crowd at Starlight Stadium watched as the Vancouver Whitecaps exacted revenge on Pacific FC in their Canadian Championship semi-final match on Wednesday (May 24).

The attendance was 5,221, a record for Pacific FC at the stadium.

Back in 2021, Pacific pulled off a massive upset when they beat the Whitecaps 4-3. But WednesdayB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s crowd was not lucky enough to see the feat repeated, with the Whitecaps putting the home team to the sword with some clinical finishing, winning the game 3-0.

A Canadian Premier League team has still never made it to the final of the Canadian Championship, a knockout competition featuring teams in the MLS to semi-professional provincial teams. In the other semi-final, CPL Champions Forge FC lost to CF Montreal.

New seating has been opened this season with the removal of the BC Hydro pole on the north side of Starlight Stadium. Some temporary bleachers and beer gardens have been set up along that side of the field, meaning there are fans on all four sides during games for the first time this season.
