The first two games of November saw the Victoria Grizzlies suffer two more losses.
The Grizzlies have now lost their past four games and will look to turn it around on the road against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 10.
Merritt crushed the Grizzlies at The Q Centre last Friday 6-0. The Centennials scored four goals in the opening frame and added one goal in the second as well as one in the third.
Jacob Berger stopped all 32 shots he faced to record the shutout.
On Sunday, the Grizzlies looked to bounce back against the Trail Smoke Eaters. Victoria opened the scoring thanks to T.J. Friedmann at 16:30 of the first period. Spencer McLean scored for the Smoke Eaters at 19:02 to tie the game at one just before the intermission.
It didnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t take long for the Grizzlies to add another at 1:26 of the second period with a goal from Justin Michaelian. At 5:18, Drayson Pears added another to give the home team a 3-1 lead.
Trail responded with two back-to-back goals of their own. The first came at 13:20 of the middle frame thanks to Spencer McLeanB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s second of the night.
With less than a minute left, Bryce Anderson scored to once again tie the game.
The Grizzlies couldnB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t gain any momentum back and McLean completed the hat trick to give the Smoke Eaters the 4-3 win in overtime.
Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Alberni Valley on Friday, before the Grizzlies return home to The Q Centre on Saturday, Nov. 11 to take on Powell River.
