The Sooke School District election on Saturday saw 20-year-old Ravi Parmar elected into the Belmont division and not by a slim margin.
Parmar garnered the second-highest total of votes with 3,668. He trailed only SD62 board chair Wendy Hobbs, who collected 3,835 votes. Incumbents Wendy Hobbs, Denise Riley and Dianna Seaton were also re-elected.
The voters in Milnes Landing were obviously content with their representation, as all three incumbents, Robert Phillips, Neil Poirier and Margot Swinburnson, were re-elected.
Swinburnson led the polls with 2,271 votes, followed by Phillips and Poirier at 1,813 and 1,748, respectively, with a buffer of nearly 700 votes separating them from the next candidate.
