Several of VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 favourite musicians will take centre stage next month in support of the Mary Manning Centre.
A concert entitled The Sky is my Blanket is set for Oak Bay United Church on Nov. 17, beginning at 7 p.m.
The music extravaganza will feature Nomad (Michael Waters and Ugandan star Kinobe), Vancouver groundbreaker C.Diab, and Georgia Murray in an event that will feature original compositions, as well as duos and improv performances.
The Mary Manning Centre is VictoriaB次元官网网址檚 only non-profit agency dedicated to the treatment of child victims of abuse.
The centre has been in operation since 1995 and has helped thousands of children and their families recover from the effects of child abuse.
While the centre primarily provides counselling and support for the victims of sexual abuse, it has expanded that role to include all forms of abuse, trauma and maltreatment.
B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檓 so excited to be a part of this concert,B次元官网网址 said Murray, one of the showB次元官网网址檚 headliners. B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檝e known Michael (Waters) since I was a child and heB次元官网网址檚 an amazing talent. ItB次元官网网址檒l be great to be on stage with him and the others for this wonderful cause.B次元官网网址
Murray has another reason for wanting to help the Mary Manning Centre in its work.
B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檝e never been the victim of abuse,B次元官网网址 said Murray, B次元官网网址渂ut I have several friends who were. These people really struggled; they didnB次元官网网址檛 have this kind of help and they would really have benefitted from it. IB次元官网网址檓 doing this for them and others like them who need the help.B次元官网网址
