Woman dead on scene after 2-vehicle collision on Sooke Road: RCMP

The investigation regarding the crash which occurred at 4 p.m. Jan. 2 is ongoing

Sooke Road was backed up Jan. 2 as a result of a vehicle incident.

Sooke RCMP announced Jan. 3 that they are investigating a two-vehicle collision that resulted in a fatality.  

The accident which occurred on Jan. 2 just before 4:00 p.m. took place at the 5000 block of Sooke Road (Highway 14) when a car collided with a truck.  

The collision, at a sharp corner, occurred between the car, an Acura 1.6E, headed westbound and a truck travelling east.  

The driver of the Acura, a 63-year-old woman, died at the scene while the truck driver was uninjured, RCMP announced.

An RCMP traffic analyst was present at the scene to investigate the cause of the collision, and the investigation is currently ongoing. The highway reopened around 9:00 p.m.
