Victoria's Abkhazi Garden is inviting the community to come together for a special musical event to mark International Day of Peace.
Joy of Life Choir, Vancouver Island Chamber Choir, Kalyna Ukrainian Choir and Ukrainian ChildrenB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Choir will perform on Saturday, Sept. 21, to mark the day.
"We have invited choirs to sing in the garden on International Day of Peace to recognize our yearning for a peaceful world and to also recognize musicB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s healing power," said the Garden's news release.
The International Day of Peace was first established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. In 2001, it was agreed by the United Nations to designate the day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.
The heritage home and garden, located at 1964 Fairfield Rd., will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last entrance at 4 p.m. Admission to the garden is by donation.
