Saanich father leads 15th march in memory of slain daughter Lindsay Buziak

Real estate agent Lindsay Buziak, 24, was fatally stabbed 17 years ago, case remains unsolved

As Greater Victoria residents woke up to the first snow of the season, blanketing the region, a small group of people gathered behind Saanich City Hall asking for justice to be served.

"Lindsay would be 40 years old today," said Jeff Buziak, who organized the 15th annual walk in her memory, still seeking justice for his daughter's murder.

Real estate agent Lindsay Buziak, 24, was stabbed more than 40 times on Feb. 2, 2008, after being lured to a supposed showing in the Gordon Head area, by who police believe were people impersonating prospective buyers.

As of Feb. 2, 2025, 17 years later, the case remains unsolved and Buziak is still waiting for answers, being openly critical of the Saanich police's handling of the murder.

B次元官网网址淭he police obviously haven't done a good job,B次元官网网址 said Buziak. B次元官网网址淚t's 17 years and there's no arrests, no suspect's name.

B次元官网网址淚t's not that I don't like Saanich Police; I know wonderful people working there but the job is not done.B次元官网网址

Frustrated by the lack of answers, Buziak remains relentless and organizes the walk each year to keep pressure on local and provincial authorities to solve the case.

B次元官网网址淚 aim to remind theB次元官网网址 minister of justice, the mayor of Saanich, the police chief, B次元官网网址榃hat are you doing?B次元官网网址 We've got to get this solved.B次元官网网址

This year, like many years before, Glen Davies and his family attended the march. As the father of BuziakB次元官网网址檚 best friend, he continues to seek closure in what he calls a "tragic" case.

B次元官网网址淭he murder was grotesque and she was an innocent bystander,B次元官网网址 said Davies. B次元官网网址淚 think that there are people out there who know the truth. IB次元官网网址檇 just like to see them come forward so that we can solve the murder.B次元官网网址

Though Jeffrey is still determined to find his daughter's killer, the years of seeking justice have taken a toll on him.

B次元官网网址淭his year I had triple bypass open heart surgery because the stress of it all is killing me,B次元官网网址 said Buziak.

As the wounds of his daughter's passing are still fresh like yesterday, Buziak continues to fight for his daughter who was a fighter herself.

B次元官网网址淚 promised her that I would not stop until the day I die, which got pretty close this year, but I'm gonna keep going until I can't.B次元官网网址

In moments of hardship, Lindsay's memory gives him the strength to keep going.

B次元官网网址淚 just have to remember this beautiful young woman who loved her dad dearly and I loved her with all my heart,B次元官网网址 said Buziak. B次元官网网址淪he was very vivacious, friendly, loving, kind and caring. Everybody was her friend no matter who you were. She was just one of those special girls and it's sad to see her go.B次元官网网址

In a written statement, Saanich Police said they are still investigating the crime.

B次元官网网址淭he homicide of Lindsay Buziak is an open and active investigation,B次元官网网址 reads the statement. B次元官网网址淒etectives are working full-time to solve this case.B次元官网网址
