On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Kimberley Dynamiters took on the Golden Rockets for the fifth time this season, and for the fifth time, they came away with the win. 

Luke Davies, the 2006-born Calgarian, continues to be a deciding factor on the ice in his debut season with the Dynamiters. He opened the scoring on Saturday night six minutes into the first period, his twenty-fifth goal of the season so far. 

Jake Briltz, who's also playing his first season with the Dynamiters, scored to make it 2-0 heading into the second, assisted by Tristan Weill and team captain Trey Stephenson. 

The Rockets got on the board early into the second period when Brent Krawchuk made good on a penalty shot. 

The Nitros shortly answered back with a goal from Danik Reeves, his fourteenth of the season. The Rockets would then capitalize on a power play with a goal from Evan Tsadilas, keeping things interesting heading into the third. 

Weill would then score two goals in the first eight minutes of the period, bringing his season total up to 18 goals in 38 games played, and making for a three-point game. 

The Rockets tacked on one more less than 30 seconds after Weill's second goal, but that would be the final goal of the game, giving the Dynamiters a 5-3 win.

The Dynamiters still sit on top of the Eddie Mountain Division standings and are in fourth overall in the KIJHL, with the Grand Forks Border Bruins jumping up to the number one spot, tied with the Princeton Posse at 62 points a piece. 

The Nitros have just six regular season games left, starting on Friday night at the Civic Centre, when they welcome the Columbia Valley Rockies. They will then hit the road with games in Creston, Osoyoos and Kelowna, before the final game of the season. That will be on Saturday, Feb. 22 and they will once again take on the Golden Rockets.
