West Shore Parks and Recreation has released its fall guide, which features a number of new developments in the area of fitness and childrenB次元官网网址檚 programming.
At the forefront for fitness buffs is Queenax, a suspended bodyweight training system that maximizes efficiency and can be configured in a variety of ways.
B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 probably the most current, functional training system thatB次元官网网址檚 out there,B次元官网网址 said Rob Wilson, the rec centreB次元官网网址檚 fitness and wellness co-ordinator.
The wall-to-wall Queenax doesnB次元官网网址檛 take up a lot of space, as all of its applications can be stored, allowing for open space underneath when the system is not in use.
This allows the space to be used for a yoga or spin bike class one night and a Queenax-oriented class the next.
B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 multi-use. ItB次元官网网址檚 great,B次元官网网址 Wilson said.
The Queenax will have heavy punching bags and trainer bars and can be used for suspension training, among other fitness activities. The system will arrive in October and will be used during classes starting in early November. In January there will be open times for gym members to use the system, following an orientation session.
The centre will also host a series of free classes during its Fall Fitness Week from Sept. 6 to Sept. 12, including yoga, boxing and Zumba sessions.
ThereB次元官网网址檚 plenty of new activities for the kids as well, as the artistic studio at the Centennial Centre has been given a B次元官网网址渇resh coat of artistic passion.B次元官网网址
B次元官网网址淲eB次元官网网址檒l be running programs on several days of the week with different themes and different setups,B次元官网网址 noted school-age and youth programmer Amy Cooper, who added that their programming will range from more structured classes to open drop-in space.
Classes and workshops for kids from three to 10, and teens from 11 to 16, will be offered out of the new studio and the spaceB次元官网网址檚 grand re-opening will take place on Sept. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The activity guide was delivered along with the Wednesday issue of the B次元官网网址 copies can be picked up at the recreation centre.
