Canada Day: July 1, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. Come celebrate CanadaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s special day and join the excitement. Fun activities, food and snacks. Leave a bit of room for the huge cake. Admission and a piece of cake are free.
Eats and Beats: July 9, 1 to 8 p.m., Esquimalt Lagoon. With roughly 1,000 in attendance at the first Eats and Beats at the Beach, this yearB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s event is sure to be a hit. Hot local food trucks and cool summer tunes come together to get West Shore residents out having some fun in the sun, with their toes in the sand.
Annual Vintage Cadillac Car Show: July 12, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. Join the Vancouver Island Chapter of the Cadillac Car Club of B.C. for CanadaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s largest Cadillac show. With close to 100 cars, the show offers every variety of this luxury marque. Admission is $3.90 for adults, $1.90 for youth and $9.80 for families.
Langford Triathlon: July 17, all day. This is the second race in the Westshore Race Series. The Langford Triathlon will feature an Olympic, Sprint, and Relay distances.
Stinking Fish Studio Tour: July 21 to 25, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mark your calendar for a glorious drive through the beautiful landscape of Metchosin and East Sooke while you take in the Stinking Fish Summer Studio Tour. Visit a wide variety of artists in their studios and see what they have created. This year several invited guests will be showing at various membersB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™ studios. The five day tour allows you to visit everyone in one day or come back for seconds or even thirds. Learn to Camp: July 23 to 24, Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites. Participating families will stay overnight in a tent while making new friends and enjoying breathtaking scenery. They will learn how to pitch a tent, start a fire and stay safe around wildlife. Langford Car Show: Aug. 21, Goldstream Avenue between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Peatt Road. Come out and see the classic and muscle cars from 1975 and earlier. Vote on your favourite for the PeopleB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Choice award.
Fab Forts: Aug. 20, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard National Historic Sites. Staying dry in not an option at VictoriaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s largest squirt gun battle. Join in the fun with your water guns at the ready for Parks CanadaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s annual Fab Forts event. Come and try to storm the fort or join a game of capture the flag before testing your aim with some target practice. Face painting and live music will also be on the agenda for the day. Regular admission rates apply. No pets permitted.
