Members of the South Vancouver Island Rangers are encouraging the public to come out for a free picnic and games event thatB次元官网网址檚 sure to have something for the whole family.
The picnic will take place on Sunday (May 28) from noon to 4 p.m. at the RangersB次元官网网址 facility in Langford (3498 Luxton Rd.). Club members invite the community to come out and enjoy free hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as games for both children and adults.

Francis hopes the annual event will raise awareness about what the Rangers do in the community. He noted that itB次元官网网址檚 also the clubB次元官网网址檚 way of saying thanks to their Langford neighbours.

The Rangers formed in 1941 and were originally tasked with patrolling the Goldstream watershed, amid concerns that the Japanese might attack British ColumbiaB次元官网网址檚 West Coast. They were soon absorbed into the new military service known as the , which disbanded following the conclusion of the Second World War.
Now, the Rangers operate as a social club, with onsite trap and skeet shooting facilities, and fundraise for a variety of community causes.
