The Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra launches its 2019-2020 concert season with Celebrating the Concerto on Oct. 27.
Celebrating the Concerto begins with Joseph HaydnB次元官网网址檚 Symphony No. 104 (London), the last of 12 symphonies the composer wrote for English audiences and a fitting capstone to his prolific career-long contribution to the symphonic tradition he helped build.
First performed in London in May 1795 to great acclaim, this monumental piece in four movements is thought by many to surpass in its fullness, richness and majesty all his other symphonic compositions.
