Metchosin Community HouseB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Speaker Series continues with a conversation with aeronautical engineer Parvez Kumar entitled Climate Change, Our World on Fire? The event is free for everyone at the Metchosin Community House.
June 17, 7 p.m.
Local band The Kicks takes over the Bandwagon at Metchosin Golf Club for one day, covering both classic and modern cover tunes along with some originals. The restaurant and bar open at 5:30 p.m. and the band takes the stage at 7 p.m.

This yearB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Association for the Protection of Rural Metchosin annual general meeting features an engaging retrospective view of the APRMB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s presence. The evening includes commentary from Mayor John Ranns on the associationB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s role over the years.
In addition, Chris Moehr speaks on the issues that led to its formation in 1993, Frank Mitchell talks about the struggles within the community as it developed its official community plan and Shirley Wilde speaks about the dispute over Central Mountain.

The Fire Hall hosts an information session on insurance policies. We all pay for and rely on our home insurance to cover expenses, but many donB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™t understand exactly how that works when disaster strikes. Here we have an insurance specialist on site to help us review what you many not know about your home policy.
June 24, 7 p.m.
Metchosin film night continues at the Community House with a documentary by CanadaB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s own Edward Burtynsky called Manufactured Landscapes. This film looks at the subtle landscapes created by the waste generated by slag heaps, dumps and factories. Get there early to get a good seat.
June 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Glow Arts Studio and Gallery features a one-day festival with music, food outdoor actives, a craft market and more as they continue with their Ebb and Flow, ocean-themed art show on 4495 Happy Valley Rd.
