Airbrush artist Paul Archer has created many images of famous musicians and other celebrities over the years.
Archer's painting of film star Dan Aykroyd, who was in Langford last weekend for a promotional visit and charitable motorcycle ride, was auctioned off as part of a benefit for teen cancer patient Zack Downey.
His latest airbrush project is a far-larger-than-life mural of screen goddess Marilyn Monroe, destined for the wall of a downtown restaurant. The panels of the mural are so large that Archer has been working on them outside his home on Charmar Crescent.
While the mural was not quite finished as of last week, he had already received kudos from the public about his work. His home faces Millstream Road and Veteran's Memorial Parkway and he says drivers have been waving and honking as he has worked on the four-panel piece.
