For many families in Langford looking for a safe and fun Halloween evening, one destination will be hard to beat: Treat Street at the Langford Station.

Presented by the City of Langford and Langford Fire Rescue, this family trick-or-treat experience boasts free treats, hot dogs, hot chocolate and more.

The event started in the early '80s at the fire hall and evolved over the years into a full Treat Street on Station Avenue in 2022, said Terri Foggitt, events coordinator with the City of Langford. Over 1,000 trick-or-treaters, plus their parents, partook last year.

While games, professionally carved pumpkins, balloon art, and the dog booth will not return this year, the event will continue to focus on a safe space for trick-or-treating. There will be 20+ candy stations and 15+ FARE Teal Pumpkin Stations where non-food treats are available. These stations are part of the Teal Pumpkin Project, which supports kids with food allergies so they can also enjoy Halloween and the experience of trick-or-treating.

Parents can expect to see lots of costumes from Google Trends Frightgeist, which shows the most popular costumes of 2024. The top five most popular are Red (from Descendants) at number one, followed by Dr. Doom, Kidpool, Gojo and Wolverine.

It's all part of the fun that makes Halloween a favourite night of the year for some families.

"Events like this one help bring the community together.  ItB次元官网网址檚 a night of fun where everyone is welcome," said Terri Foggitt, events coordinator.

The event runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 720 Station Ave. in Langford.
