Belmont's sevens girls rugby team came up against a solid Stelly's side at the B.C. championships on Saturday, losing 17-0 in the semifinals of the bowl competition at the University of British Columbia
In the toughest pool of the tournament, Belmont went 1-2 in preliminary games, losing 22-0 to eventual B.C. champion Abbotsford and 31-12 to runner-up Shawnigan Lake, and beating Semiahmoo from Surrey, 19-5.
The West Shore side recorded a 5-0 win in the bowl quarter-finals when team 2 from Richmond's McMath withdrew.
