A Nova Scotia man has hand-built the dream ride of B次元官网网址淪tar WarsB次元官网网址� fans: A remote-controlled, rideable TIE fighter replica.

Allan Carver of Queensland welded together steel, foam and scrap wheelchair motors to create a two-metre tall replica of the Imperial FleetB次元官网网址檚 go-to fighter.

The starfighter B次元官网网址� complete with wings, wheels and a cockpit large enough to carry a full-grown man B次元官网网址� tops out at 10 km/h and is programmed to emit TIE fighter sound effects, he said.

B次元官网网址淚 didnB次元官网网址檛 want people to look at this and start picking it apart. I want people to look at this and go B次元官网网址楾hatB次元官网网址檚 a TIE fighter,B次元官网网址橞次元官网网址� Carver said. B次元官网网址淭he proportions are right, the details are close.B次元官网网址�

He said he was inspired to build it last December during the release of B次元官网网址淪tar Wars: The Last Jedi.B次元官网网址�

B次元官网网址淚 was like B次元官网网址榊ou know what would be cool? If you could actually drive a giant TIE fighter,B次元官网网址橞次元官网网址� Carver said.

Carver, who owns an advertising firm and creates furniture and other projects in his free time, said the replica took him three months to build, mostly from recycled materials, but heB次元官网网址檚 not sure how much it cost him.

He said heB次元官网网址檚 known as the B次元官网网址渕ad inventorB次元官网网址� among his friends and family, and his neighbours often ask him to fix broken appliances.

Carver left a previous job in advertising to start his own company.

B次元官网网址淲hen I went out on my own I decided I wasnB次元官网网址檛 going to put off those ideas. Or just talk about ideas. I wanted to do them.B次元官网网址�

He said he pushes advertising clients to be more creative in their methods.

B次元官网网址淚f itB次元官网网址檚 worth doing, itB次元官网网址檚 worth overdoing,B次元官网网址� he said.

For now, Carver said the TIE fighter will stay at his house B次元官网网址� it just fits through the double-doors of his home B次元官网网址� until an August parade in nearby Hubbards, N.S.
