There were no surprises in the AAA boys Island finals as the host Oak Bay Barbers defeated the Reynolds Roadrunners in the final, 25-17, 25-11, 25-21, Nov. 19.
It was a rematch of the previous week's lower Island final, which ended in the same result.
The Barbers are a favourite with heaps of talent, including the Island championship tournament MVP Nick Stefanakis, four players on the first all-star team, Ryan Marcellus, Alex Swiatlowski, Elion Wong and Lars Bornemann, and one more, Leon Young, on the second all-star team.
Reynolds' Gabe Duval and Zach Mitchner were also named to the Island's first all-star team.
Parksville's Ballenas defeated Claremont in the bronze medal final 25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21.
All four teams, Oak Bay, Reynolds, Ballenas and Claremont, qualify for the AAA B.C.s from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 in Kelowna.
Belmont finished fifth at Islands, Dover Bay sixth, Mount Doug in seventh and StellyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s in eighth.
