According to BC FerriesB次元官网网址� own figures, the new German-built ships consume about 50 per cent more fuel per passenger per crossing than the old queens they replaced. Hahn, questioned on talk radio, confirmed this.
Therefore the cause of the fare increases is obvious. A bad choice of ferry builder, and a lack of due diligence by BC Ferries.
