LETTER: Victoria becoming haven for Canada's homeless

The more services and benefits that West Coast communities provide to the homeless the more will be attracted to come here
pandora
Victoria police patrol Pandora Avenue the day after a paramedic was attacked by a mentally ill man.

It would be helpful if those who are criticizing the ban on sheltering in parks also offered a solution to the problem.

The more services and benefits that West Coast communities provide to the homeless the more will be attracted to come here to take advantage of them and the warmer climate. This is a federal problem. All that are concerned about it should demand action from their federal MP.
It would be interesting to know how many of those in need of shelter have moved here in the last 10 years.
