Town staff retrieve toy drone for young boy

I would like to express my gratitude to the Town of Sidney staff involved in solving a trivial problem which was anything but trivial to my grandson.

While playing in the park, a gust of wind grabbed hold of his toy drone and blew it into the former Anacordes terminal parking lot.  He was devastated, and particularly so because he is on the autism spectrum.  We walked around the entire compound and could find no way to access the parking lot which had swallowed up the drone. Unfortunately, they had to return home to Toronto (poor souls) the following day.

I placed what I thought would be a fruitless call to the town office, and was surprisingly dealt with with courtesy and understanding.  The following day a kind man returned to the terminal site to meet with me and handed the toy drone to me. I really regret being so delighted that I immediately forgot the gentleman's name, but will always remember his kindness.

The toy drone was mailed to my grandson, who also is deeply grateful for the kindness of those involved in the retrieval of his beloved toy.

Perhaps this is but a small act, but it reflects huge hearts.

Stephen Spicoluk

Sidney
