The article, , is disgraceful, especially the headline.
The city's mayor and council are not listening to the concerns of Victoria citizens unless those views fit their agenda. I attended that safety meeting and Tim Thielmann gave space to and listened to a homeless person, someone connected to the Safe Consumption Site on Dowler, people who have worked in mental health and addictions as well as shelters, people on disability, and those concerned about increasing violence in Victoria.
Tim asked that comments be vision-oriented. He suggested a community safety organization similar to the one in Nanaimo. TimB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s statement to the press was a question. Is it no longer acceptable to question our governing bodies? I believe it is a fair question. I believe Victoria residents have a right to be heard on the issue of safety for all citizens.
