Re: (Editorial, May 17)

Nice to see your editorial re: traffic shortcutting around Esquimalt Lagoon.

There are other examples on the West Shore. Sooke traffic diverts off Sooke road, along Glen Lake Road, which has a 50 km/h limit.

Then people go up Alouette Drive, and turn right on Langford Lake Road, both of which are narrow, residential streets with a 30 km/h limit. Speeds often reach an estimated twice the posted limit.

We have asked the City of Langford for speed bumps to reduce the speed, but to no avail. Extra signs showing the 30 km/h limit is all we get.

Heaven knows what the traffic will be like when the Westshore Parkway is put through to Highway 1. We are very concerned residents.
