A 29-year-old Highlands man faces charges after West Shore RCMP received information that he was in possession of a firearm and other weapons.
A search warrant was obtained for a property in the 1800-block of Millstream Rd. in the Highlands and was carried out on the evening of July 3. The search recovered a handgun, ammunition, stolen cell phone, body armour and other prohibited weapons, including brass knuckles and a switch blade. An undisclosed amount of cocaine, heroin and marijuana products were also seized.
West Shore RCMP Const. Alex Berube would not disclose the street value of the drugs seized, but said the amount of marijuana recovered was enough to make 350 joints. It was unclear what role the man is alleged to have played in the drug trade.
