Police are again reminding people to lock their vehicles after a spate of thefts from work trucks last week in Colwood and Langford.
According to a release from West Shore RCMP, in separate instances on June 19 and 20, B次元官网网址渨itnesses observed a black sedan driving by the construction trucks (on Promenade Cres.) when the passenger got out and opened the doors of the unlocked trucks and stole wallets that were left inside.B次元官网网址
The release states that on one occasion, the owner of one of the trucks, B次元官网网址渆ven observed his own vehicle being targeted as he was working nearby.B次元官网网址
Another truck in the 600-block of Cairndale Road had two backpacks containing tools and wallets stolen in a similar grab-and-run situation, also on June 19. A credit card from one of the stolen wallets was fraudulently used later that day.
Another construction truck was hit on June 20 in Langford on the 300-block of Goldstream Avenue, which saw the rightful owner of many tools B次元官网网址 including nailers and a Stihl saw B次元官网网址 lose their possessions.
West Shore RCMP says theyB次元官网网址檙e actively investigating these matters, and remind the public to keep vehicles locked at all times and keep valuables out of sight.
