The Downtown Victoria Business Association is inviting professionals and amateurs alike to create a unique mosaic mural.
As part of the associationB次元官网网址檚 , artist Steve Milroy designed a scaled version of the mural, Justice.
He then split the art into 120 individual two-foot-by-two-foot panels, which will be presold for $50 and can be painted by the donor B次元官网网址 or assigned to an artist B次元官网网址 creating a unique mosaic.
B次元官网网址淭his project is about working to create a sense of community while increasing the visual appeal of the downtown,B次元官网网址 association general manager Ken Kelly said in a statement.
Once complete, the mural will be installed at 533 Chatham St.
B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檝e never done a mural mosaic, but it probably wonB次元官网网址檛 be my last,B次元官网网址 said Milroy, who also runs Wonderworks.
Donors who contribute to the project will be honoured by name on a bronze plaque affixed to the mural.
All money collected goes toward the projectB次元官网网址檚 production costs.
Donation brochures are available at the DVBA office at 20 Centennial Sq., or at the artist space at 17 Market Square which people can visit on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in August.
The project is a collaboration with the Victoria Integrated Court.
