Two six storey apartment buildings proposed for Orono Avenue
At MondayB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s meeting, Langford council considered several rezoning applications that could see a number of new homes going up in the near future. One of those proposals, which came at the recommendation of the CityB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s planning, zoning and affordable housing committee, would see the zoning of 2839 Jacklin Rd. and 866, 864 and 862 Orono Ave. changed to allow for the construction of two six storey apartment buildings.
A public hearing for this application has not yet been scheduled.
Rezoning amendment could result in 72 townhomes on Luxton Road
Luxton Road could soon feature a number of new homes.
Also at the recommendation of the CityB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s planning, zoning and affordable housing committee, council asked staff to prepare a bylaw to amend the zoning for 3343, 3347 and 3359 Luxton Rd. from rural residential to residential small lot and attached housing to allow for a future subdivision of six new single family residential lots and the development of 72 townhomes.
Rezoning hits technical snag for subdivision
An application to rezone two properties to make way for an approximately 53-lot subdivision hit a technical snag this month. At MondayB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s meeting council rescinded the first reading of Bylaw 1705, which was given at the June 8 meeting, after it was discovered that the map included for consideration with amendment only showed the property at 765 Willing Drive and not the property at 656 Frederic Rd.
A new proposed Bylaw No. 1705 was prepared by staff with the correct map showing both properties and that was given first reading by council.
