Langford construction company owner charged with sexual assault

West Shore RCMP say there is reason to believe there could be more victims

The owner of a Langford based construction company has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of five female employees over the course of one year.

Kyle Mostowy, owner and project manager for All Canadian Construction Ltd., located on Van Isle Way, is facing five counts of sexual assault for crimes allegedly taking place between Oct. 2010 and Sept. 2011.

West Shore RCMP Sgt. Max Fossum said the assaults were not violent in nature but could not get into details while the case is before the courts.

All five women were employees of the company and all of the assaults are alleged to have taken place in Mostowy's home, which doubles as his office. Fossum said Mostowy is accused of multiple offences with some of the victims, as well as one-off offences with others.

"Because it's before the courts I don't want to comment more into that," Fossum said.

Police became aware of the crimes after one of the alleged victims came to them in Oct. 2010. At that time Crown council did not approve charges. A second complaint also failed to bring about charges. Once more victims came forward, charges were approved by Crown council.

"It's approved now, but it took some steps," Fossum said.

RCMP obtained a warrant and arrested Mostowy on Thursday, July 19.

Fossum said there is reason to believe there could be more victims.

Mostowy has been released on bail, with conditions, including not being allowed to have female employees.

West Shore RCMP are asking anyone with any information to contact them at 250-474-2264.
