Anyone trying to get on or off Vancouver Island can expect delays today.
High winds gusting over 100 km per hour have resulted in cancellations and delays on flights and ferry routes all morning and will continue into the evening.
So far, BC Ferries cancelled 80 sailings across 12 routes, including between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen. Evening runs on this route are cancelled until 5:00 p.m.

Flights and operations at the Victoria International Airport are also affected. As of 1:15 p.m. the air terminal building is running on generator power, and two flights arriving from Vancouver have been cancelled, with another two delayed.
Two flights departing to Vancouver have also been cancelled, while flights to Vancouver, Seattle and San Francisco are delayed.

Two Harbour Air Flights from the Victoria Inner Harbour were cancelled today while four others were delayed.
Flights after 2:30 p.m. are also anticipated to be delayed.

Additionally, wind-related problems, including trees on power lines, have caused power outages across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
Afternoon sailings from Victoria to Port Angeles on the Coho Ferry are cancelled, but Friday sailings are anticipated to sail as per usual.
Sailings to Seattle with the Clipper ferry are also cancelled today.
