After a trial run last summer, the West Shore will see blood donor clinics every eight weeks starting in April.
Ciara Stewart, volunteer resources co-ordinator with Canadian Blood Services hopes to build a local volunteer team to help run two-day blood donor clinics.

The in-clinic team serves juice and cookies and looks out for adverse reactions in donors post-donation.

Training involves orientation and a three- to four-hour hands-on session.
Stewart needs a minimum dozen people and a team leader plus another crew of in-community volunteers to spread the word and man information booths at community events.

The first clinics are April 10 and 11 at the Church of the Advent, 510 Mount View Rd. from 1 to 6 p.m. and every eight weeks after that.
