Danbrook Park parking lot upgrade funds approved by Langford council

Plan for Claude Road lot to include paving, lights, landscaping

Langford council voted in favour of pouring more funding into finalizing the parking lot at 2765 Claude Rd.

Construction began on the parking lot after a City-owned house was demolished last month. The lot was temporarily finished with gravel in time for last weekB次元官网网址檚 car show, with the hope that it will be finished with asphalt at a future date.

At MondayB次元官网网址檚 meeting, councillors approved additional funding of $150,000 from the downtown parking and general amenity reserves to complete the project. Future work will include two phases.

The first, costing an estimated $51,000, will consist of a paved sidewalk/bike lane, paved road edge to the first row of stalls, drainage, two lights and parking lot landscaping.

Phase two will complete the entire parking area with paving, painting, landscaping and decorative lighting, at an additional cost of $84,000. This phase also includes some upgrades to Danbrook Park.

An additional contingency fund was added to those costs to bring the estimated project total cost to $150,000.
