You can never be too prepared.

The City of Colwood will receive training for staff and volunteers from the Justice Institute of B.C. on incident command training. The course for members of the Colwood Fire Department, Westshore Emergency Support Services and Colwood public works staff was made available through a B.C. Hydro Community Safety Award. Hydro makes the awards available to communities to prepare for disasters such as floods, earthquakes and the wildfires currently raging across parts of the province.

Colwood Coun. Gordie Logan said the training is good news, following on the heels of the recent donation of two defibrillators from the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Logan, who took a similar course several years ago when he served as chair of ColwoodB次元官网网址檚 protective services committee, said it was B次元官网网址渧ery helpful and informative.B次元官网网址�

The B.C. Hydro Community Safety Award provides up to $2,000 to eligible communities in B.C. by supporting the training of first responders, employees and volunteers.
