What do a church, daycare, gas station, apartment building and Bear Mountain have in common? TheyB次元官网网址檒l all be up for debate during the next round of public hearings.
The City of Langford has called public meetings for rezoning applications on five different properties in the area. These include two in the Bear Mountain development, a church and daycare application for 2207 Millstream Rd., a six-storey residential building (to replace a single-family home) at 778 Hockley Ave. and a gas station for the corner of Kelly and Jacklin roads.
However, city planning director Matthew Baldwin expected that the application for the gas station would be removed from the docket due to a required traffic study not being completed in time.
B次元官网网址淭hey started off, pun-intended, down the right road,B次元官网网址 he said.
The six-storey building proposed for 778 Hockley Ave. is what Baldwin believed to be the last development site on that side of the road, and will be the B次元官网网址渟ame as the other Hockley Avenue apartments on either side.B次元官网网址
As for the church and daycare application, the application is just a B次元官网网址渉ousekeeping matter for the property owners,B次元官网网址 he said, adding that the property on the former All Fun Recreation site would need to be rezoned to get a daycare licence.
At the time of the GazetteB次元官网网址檚 press deadline, all five hearings were scheduled for Monday, July 20, at 7 p.m.
