The investigation into Michael DunaheeB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s disappearance remains one of the largest missing person investigations in Canada and continues to be active today B´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·“ 33 years later.
On March 24, 1991 around 12:30 p.m., four-year-old Michael Dunahee disappeared from the area of the Blanshard School playground, just a short distance away from his family.
The area was flush with families and spectators on hand for a touch football game. Despite an extensive search the boy was never located.

On the anniversary Sunday, those supporting the boyB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s family, and Child Find B.C., took to the streets of Esquimalt for the annual Keep The Hope Alive walk and run. Child Find B.C. is a non-profit dedicated to finding missing children and preventing child abductions.

In 2021, to mark 30 years since Michael was last seen, VicPD launched a dedicated online tip portal at . Hundreds of tips have been received and continue to be investigated, VicPD said in a media release ahead of the 33rd anniversary of DunaheeB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s disappearance on March 24.
