Thrillers to fantasies: Vancouver Island's most-borrowed library titles of 2024

Vancouver Island Regional Library releases its list of the books Islanders borrowed most this year

As 2024 draws to a close, the Vancouver Island Regional Library has released a list of the books borrowed most by Islanders this year.

Based on data from 39 branches, which include those in Sooke and Sidney to the Gulf Islands and Haida Gwaii, from thrillers to fantasies, here are the books Islanders read the most in 2024.

Adult print fiction: The Women by Kristin Hannah

Set in 1965, this novel tells the story of 23-year-old nursing student Frances McGrath, who lives a sheltered life on Coronado Island. But when her brother ships out to fight in Vietnam, she follows suit, joining the Army Nurse Corps.
