West Shore RCMP is appealing for help to identify a suspect and a vehicle involved in the theft of a flatbed trailer and excavator from a Langford workyard.

Officers responded to the report of the theft at 792 Industrial Way on Dec. 27, 2024, at approximately 2:40 a.m., according to an RCMP news release.

Police believe a Ford F350 Super Duty truck entered the yard, hooked up to the flatbed trailer with loaded excavator, and drove away.

Both the flat-deck trailer and excavator have since been recovered by police, but they have not identified the suspect or suspect vehicle.

"Police conducted patrols, located and attempted to stop the suspect vehicle which fled from police," said the news release.

The vehicle was last seen headed westbound on Finlayson Arm Road on Dec. 27 at approximately 3 a.m.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue 2000s Ford F350 Super Duty crew cab with utility deck, roof marker lights and an off-road LED lightbar on the front grill.
