Pickleball courts are set to rise in Topaz Park this summer for the second phase of improvements to the Hillside/Quadra green space. Victoria is adding an 11-court pickleball hub, a new outdoor fitness area, a central gathering space, a misting station and connecting pathways.
The construction of a new hub helps meet increasing demand for pickleball facilities in Victoria and supports the cityB次元官网网址檚 strategic plan goal to improve recreational sports amenities.

The sport is blowing up in the region, with the association reporting a 300-per-cent jump in membership since October 2021, with 680 members in July 2023 and nearly 900 to start 2024.
The courts, expected to be complete by fall, will be adjacent to the skate and bike parks that opened in 2022.

During construction, a section of the Glasgow Street parking lot will be closed and traffic may periodically be impacted on the adjacent street. The nearby skate park, playground and sports fields will remain open.
