Greater Victoria pickleball fans in a pickle over where to play the popular sport, now have all the information they need at their fingertips.
Vancouver Island Pickleball (VIPB) has launched a new website, which they describe as a BԪַone-stop resource for the IslandBԪַs pickleball community,BԪַ from beginners through to seasoned players.
The Island-focused website offers a list of outdoor and indoor recreational courts from the south to north Island regions, plus details of clubs and associations.
Six clubs are listed for the south Island, including Victoria, Sooke, Saanich, Metchosin and the Peninsula.
BԪַVIPB is dedicated to empowering the sportBԪַs dynamic community with resources, tips and the latest news to help the sport flourish and reach new heights,BԪַ said the team behind the new online resource in a news release.
The websiteBԪַs blog will also feature player profiles, event coverage, news and timely updates. A pickleball coaching directory will also be added as the website grows.
Pickleball fans can also contribute to the growth of the website, and are encouraged to submit additional court listings and upcoming Island pickleball events to feature on VIPBBԪַs event calendar.
According to VIPB, pickleball participation across the country continues to surge each year, with 80,000 members registered with Pickleball Canada in 2024.
BԪַIsland numbers have followed a similar pattern, with Victoria Regional Pickleball Association announcing over 1,000 members in a November email update, up from approximately 400 just two years prior,BԪַ said VIPB.
