A mural that turns heads on a heritage building in Bastion Square will stay thanks to a permit from the city.
After an interim permit expired in late summer 2024, DarcyB次元官网网址檚 Pub submitted a formal request to keep the mural on the two-storey 19th-century commercial building facing the Inner Harbour waterway at the corner of Wharf Street and Bastion Square.
B次元官网网址淚t is our understanding that there have been zero complaints from anyone regarding the mural. In fact, many visitors to both DarcyB次元官网网址檚 Pub and Bastion Square have been really enjoying its beauty over the past five years,B次元官网网址 the pub wrote the city.
B次元官网网址淭he mural is a commemorative piece that acknowledges the presence of the service industry in Old Town over a long period of time, as well as representing contemporary youth culture. We respectfully propose that the mural be allowed to remain indefinitely.B次元官网网址
Decided during the Jan. 16 committee meeting, on Jan. 30, council officially approved the heritage alteration permit to keep the mural on the north side of the building, adjacent to the outdoor patio indefinitely.
