Two Langford bylaw officers reunited a pair of stolen paddle boards with their owner.

Langford resident Stephanie Muise tucked her paddle boards behind her car in her underground parking lot after a day on the water at Thetis Lake on Saturday (July 1). When she went down to her car on Sunday morning, the paddle boards were gone. Someone else in her building also had two bikes stolen.

Muise turned to social media, hoping to catch someone posting an advert trying to sell the paddle boards.

B次元官网网址淚 never expected to hear anything about them again,B次元官网网址 she said. Muise got surveillance video from her building manager and filed a police report but was resigned to having to buy new ones.

ThereB次元官网网址檇 been no word until July 7, when a Langford resident posted to a community Facebook group about a pair of paddle boards that had been discarded in some bushes around Langford Lake. While excited to see the photo, Muise was stuck at work at Victoria General Hospital all day. Her colleague Julie Connor drove out to the lake to try and find the boards but the initial search didnB次元官网网址檛 turn up anything

Bike patrol officers Riley Leach and Emily Bolender sprang into action, searching the lakeshore, locating the boards and pulling them out of the bushes and loading them onto Julie ConnorB次元官网网址檚 car, who reunited them with Muise.

B次元官网网址淚B次元官网网址檓 very thankful for everyone actually, for someone in the community of Langford that posted the picture on Facebook, the property manager and certainly the bylaw officers for actually putting in the effort.B次元官网网址
