Fifty aspiring leaders are embarking on an unforgettable journey at the Greater Victoria Police Foundation's annual police camp, where they will learn, grow and connect from March 15 to 22 at St. MargaretB次元官网网址檚 School.

Over the course of eight days, they will take part in a variety of activities guided by Victoria, Saanich, Central Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt police officers, as well as reserve officers and RCMP members.

Students will learn about police science through forensics/B&E simulations, work with the canine unit, participate in marine surveillance with the RCMP, Shipriders and Canada Border Services Agency at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, and observe an air unit demonstration at North Saanich Fire Hall, all culminating in a formal graduation ceremony at St. Margaret's School.

Presented at no cost for students, the immersive police camp has helped thousands of youths across the region build their self-confidence and interpersonal relationships with their peers in a team-based environment.

Students in grades 10-12 from across Greater Victoria were chosen from among 160 applicants.

GVPF, a non-profit registered charity, is also hosting a five-day Junior Police Camp for youngsters ages 10-12 this summer.
