Between Thursday and Saturday, Victoria police dealt with break-and-enters, mischief and impaired driving.
On Thursday, March 6 at about 7:30 p.m., one person was arrested after police responded to a report of an impaired driver at Johnson Street and Pandora Avenue where one vehicle driver struck another, causing "significant damage."
The same night, just after 10:30 p.m. VicPD received a report of a person causing a disturbance inside a building in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.
"The individual was removed from the building and then allegedly proceeded to pick up a large orange pylon and swung it at a parked VicPD vehicle, causing significant damage and making the vehicle inoperable," the department said in a news release.
One person was arrested and faces one charge of mischief over $5,000 and one charge of mischief by wilfully obstructing, interrupting or interfering with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of a property.
On March 8, police say an individual used an axe to break through windows and caused "significant damage" inside a business in the 700-block of Yates Street. A man was arrested and charged with one count of break and enter with intent and was remanded in custody until a bail hearing set for March 14.
The same day, officers were called to the 100-block of Harbour Road after a report of a man stealing paintings and chairs.
"The suspect was later located in the 800-block of Douglas Street and became confrontational with police. After being placed inside a police car, he proceeded to kick the door, causing significant damage; the vehicle has been rendered non-functional," noted the release. "The incident is still under investigation. "
