Oak Bay High drama students donned their petticoats and breeches in preparation to perform A Christmas Carol at the Dave Dunnet Community Theatre this week.

For the second year, students will perform the classic Charles Dickens story of Ebenezer ScroogeB次元官网网址檚 journey through the past, present and future at Christmas time B次元官网网址� journeying to find the Christmas spirit he had lost long ago.

Drama teacher Tim Bradshaw said last yearB次元官网网址檚 performance was a smash success.

B次元官网网址淲e didnB次元官网网址檛 plan on doing [A Christmas Carol] a second year in a row, but it was very successful and our principal was so pleased with it she said, B次元官网网址榶ou simply have to do it again.B次元官网网址橞次元官网网址�

But Oak Bay students B次元官网网址� both theatrically and musically talented B次元官网网址� put their own twist on the classic Yuletide story, singing and performing new music, including a fiddle duel and a song for audience participation.

B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 been a little revamped,B次元官网网址� Bradshaw said. B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 got some original music written by a University of Victoria composition student. ItB次元官网网址檚 got our kids performing these pieces live on stage B次元官网网址� no canned music.B次元官网网址�

Bradshaw said students have been rehearsing two to three times a week leading up to the official performances.

B次元官网网址淚tB次元官网网址檚 quite a large production. ItB次元官网网址檚 tough to do a classic well, but here at Oak Bay we try to do everything as professionally as possible.B次元官网网址�
