The colourful and immersive Beyond Van Gogh exhibit is finally opening in Victoria after eight months of delays.
Beyond Van Gogh was originally set to open on Oct. 14 at Bayview Place on the West Shore, but was repeatedly postponed. Event organizers had set multiple opening dates, telling excited expected attendees that the exhibit was still under development.
According to Bayview Roundhouse owner Ken Mariash, the delays were caused by a miscommunication between Paquin Entertainment and the City of Victoria regarding what kind of permit was needed to operate the exhibit.
Paquin Entertainment is now excited to open the artful experience up for the summer after the City of Victoria confirmed that the required permit had been issued to the group.
At 3,000 square feet, Beyond Van Gogh is the largest immersive experience in Canada, showcasing more then 300 pieces of Van GoghB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s artwork. The four-trillion pixel high-resolution portrayal of Van Gogh takes around one hour to view. Before entering the main part of the exhibit, a portion of the experience is filled with information on the history of Van GoghB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s art and personal life.
The Beyond Van Gogh exhibit in Victoria will be at Bayview Place, 355 Catherine St. from June 20 to Aug. 20. The exhibit is open daily at 10 a.m., except on Mondays.
Tickets are $23.99 for children ages five to 15 and adult tickets are $31.99. Tickets can be purchased online at
