Television actor Gavin MacLeod of BԪַThe Love BoatBԪַ and BԪַThe Mary Tyler Moore ShowBԪַ has died. He was 90.
MacLeod died early Saturday, his nephew, Mark See, told Variety. MacLeodBԪַs health had been poor recently but no cause of death was given, the trade publication reported.
MacLeod achieved stardom as Murray Slaughter, the sardonic TV news writer on the 1970s comedy BԪַThe Mary Tyler Moore Show.BԪַ
He went to a lead role, and bigger fame, as the cheerful Capt. Stubing on BԪַThe Love Boat.BԪַ Early in his career, he was featured on BԪַMcHaleBԪַs NavyBԪַ from 1962 to 1964 as seaman Joseph BԪַHappyBԪַ Haines.
His movie credits included BԪַKellyBԪַs Heroes,BԪַ BԪַThe Sand Pebbles,BԪַ BԪַThe Sword of Ali Baba,BԪַ BԪַWar HuntBԪַ and BԪַThe Crime Busters.BԪַ Among his more recent TV credits were BԪַTouched By An Angel,BԪַ BԪַJAGBԪַ and BԪַThe King of Queens.BԪַ
