One West Shore resident is starting the Thanksgiving long weekend in an unusual way.
Local business woman Micky Fleming was hosted above Jacklin Road at the Sooke School DistrictB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s office in Langford early Friday morning and sheB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s not coming down until one ton of food is collected for the Goldstream Food Bank to help West Shore residents in need.

Fleming, the president and CEO of Cherish Community Living Ltd. (a senior living residence at the corner of Jacklin and Jenkins roads), went up in a cherry picker shortly before 7 a.m. and sheB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s not coming down any time soon.
