More than a dozen free educational programs are being offered at Greater Victoria Public Library locations around the region, including the Juan de Fuca branch, during B.C. Library Month.
The programs range from diabetes control and the art of letter writing, to Homebuying 101 and stories about Canadian prisoners of war.
Coming up Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Juan de Fuca branch is a session entitled Health and Wellness: Craving a Healthy Relationship with Food? It focuses on the challenges faced by people who struggle with what, when and how much to eat. Registered dietician Joyce Schnetzler talks about ways to discover how knowing why we eat opens doors for positive and permanent changes to the way we eat.

GVPLB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s celebration of B.C. Library Month winds up Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 with the annual Food for Fines campaign. ThatB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s when library patrons may bring non-perishable food items to any branch, and the GVPL will forgive up to $5 in fines per cardholder.
