BC TransitB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s Transit Future Bus visits communities across Greater Victoria from Nov. 9 to 22, to gather public feedback in the Jubilee and Burnside/Tillicum areas.
The aim is to seek input to develop Local Area Transit Plans specific to those two areas. Jubilee extends from Oak Bay to Cadboro Bay, bordered by Shelbourne Street in the west. Burnside/Tillicum extends from the intersection of Douglas and Gorge to Victoria General Hospital in the west, Camosun College Interuban Campus in the north, and Carey Road in the east.
Feedback gathered through these public consultations will help BC Transit to develop recommendations to the Victoria Regional Transit Commission (VRTC) on how to improve existing services and identify future needs specific to these neighbourhoods.
The Victoria Regional Transit Future Plan, adopted by the VRTC in 2011, provides a vision for improving the regionB´ÎÔª¹ÙÍøÍøÖ·™s transit network over 25 years. Nine Local Area Transit Plans, including those for Jubilee and Burnside/Tillicum, are being developed to determine transit service and infrastructure priorities within Victoria over the next five to seven years.
